The Craig Hewitt Chapter has been an active IPMS sanctioned club since forming in 1991. The club has an active membership of about 60 members from throughout Arizona, modeling in a wide variety of areas. Subjects include aircraft, armor, automotive, ships, real spacecraft, sci-fi or figures. Some members enjoy learning the history of a particular subject, others enjoy perfecting techniques for construction and painting. And they are all happy to share what they have learned. All you have to do is ask.
Some members have a new model to show at every meeting, others take months, or even years, to complete a project. Our members include modelers who have won 1st place awards at IPMS Nationals, as well as beginners, and everything in between.
The club hosts an annual model contest open to all modelers. The club also is active in IPMS national activities, and was the host chapter for the 2004 IPMS Nationals, and has been selected to host the Nationals again in 2010.
Not all of our members build models to compete, but what we all have in common is that we love to talk about building models! If you do to, we invite you to join us.
The club meets at 7:00pm at the American Legion Post #1, 364 N. 7th Ave, Phoenix. The Post is a couple of blocks north of Van Buren on 7th Ave. Look for the large flag pole. There is a restaurant on site, and we are welcome to show up early and get a bite to eat. Check the calendar for any changes.
You don't have to be a club member to attend our meetings.
The Craig Hewitt Chapter of IPMS/USA Region 10 is a non-profit organization that promotes Scale Modeling as a recreational activity. Membership is $12.00 per year for adults 18 and older. For more information, contact us.
