2007 IPMS Nationals Group Build

The collection was presented to BG Noel T. Jones, commander of the 56th Fighter Wing, on January 26, 2008. It is a tribute to the men and women, (past, present and future) of Luke Air Force Base. The permanent display resides in the Base Library.

A special thanks to TSgt Raheem Moore, 56 FW Public Affairs photographer.

WE WON!!!

The "Planes of Luke" placed first in the Chapter/Group Entries category at the 2007 IPMS National Convention
held in Anaheim, California. A lot of members put their blood, sweat, and even shed a few tears in making
this display a reality. It is gratifying to be recognized for our hard work, considering the excellent level of
competition we faced. We will reassemble the display at our annual contest ModelZona 2007, which will
be held at the Commemorative Air Force Museum on November 10th, 2007, and then we will present the
group build to the library at Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona for permanent display.

The awards
First Place Trophy - Chapter/Group Entries
Best IPMS Chapter/Group Award
The General George Armstrong Custer Cup is a traveling trophy presented to the best chapter/group entry. IPMS Craig Hewitt will have its name engraved on the trophy, and be allowed to display the trophy until next year's convention in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The trophy will then be presented to the Chapter/Group Entry winner at the 2008 IPMS National Convention.
